Ex-cop nabbed with over P300k shabu in Masbate
LEGAZPI CITY—A former policeman, who used to be a member of an anti-drug enforcement unit, was arrested with P374,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) on Sunday night in a drug sting in Cawayan town in Masbate province, Bicol police said Monday.
Suspect Neljun Lepasana, 30, and resident of Barangay (village) Divisoria, was caught selling five grams of shabu to an undercover police agent at around 6 p.m. in Denielle Eco Park in Barangay Poblacion, according to Police Brigadier General Jonnel Estomo, Bicol police director.
Estomo, in a statement, said the suspect was a dismissed policeman who was assigned at the National Capital Region, Southern Police District – Drug Enforcement Unit. He did not specify when Lepasana was dismissed and the reason for the dismissal.
The drug operation yielded 55 grams of shabu.
The arrested suspect was a high value target illegal drug peddler operating in the towns of Placer and Cawayan.
He is now facing a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
