3 mild quakes hit Luzon

MANILA, Philippines—Three mild earthquakes jolted the country Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

A 3.1 magnitude quake was reported at 11:01 a.m., 29 kilometers southeast of Vigan, Ilocos Sur. It was tectonic in origin and was felt at Intensity II in Vigan, Ilocos Sur and Intensity I in Santa, Ilocos Sur, it said.

Meanwhile, a 2.8 magnitude quake shook Mindoro at 1:08 p.m., 67 kilometers southwest of Mamburao. It was tectonic in origin.

In Pangasinan, another tectonic quake was recorded with 3.1 magnitude, six kilometers northeast of Infanta at 3:28 p.m.

There were no reported damages and injuries and aftershocks were not expected, said Phivolcs.
