MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines has administered 11 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, one million of which given in just four days, the National Task Force against COVID-19 (NTF) said Friday.
NTF deputy chief implementer Vince Dizon said the administration of one million doses from June 28 to July 1 was the fastest since the government began its vaccination drive in March.
(In just four days, from Monday to Thursday, we administered one million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. This is the fastest we’ve achieved since we launched the vaccination program.)
(Because of this, we have so far administered 11 million doses to our countrymen.)
The breakdown of the 11 million doses administered as the first and second doses was not immediately available.
Dizon assured the administration of COVID-19 vaccines will speed up once more supply arrives in the Philippines.
NTF chief implementer and vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. earlier said the country is expecting to receive at least 13.3 million COVID-19 vaccine doses this July.
