Subic deploys mobile COVID-19 vaccination to far-flung villages

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––The local government of Subic town on Wednesday began its mobile COVID-19 vaccination program as part of its intensified rollout.

Subic health officials announced that they target to bring the vaccines to far-flung areas and reach more residents who could not go to the vaccination site.

They said the mobile vaccine program kicked off in far-flung Barangay Batiawan.

The Subic Municipal Gymnasium in Barangay Wawandue has been serving as the venue for the mass vaccine rollout for those living near the town proper.

A total of 30,715 priority recipients in the province, including Subic, had been inoculated, with 10,937 having received the second dose.

The provincial government targets to vaccinate 70 percent of the 590,848 population to achieve herd immunity.

Local health workers have been administering Coronavac (Sinovac) vaccine from China and AstraZeneca (Oxford) vaccine from the U.K. INQ
