TUGUEGARAO CITY — An 11-year-old girl drowned and two of her cousins were declared missing when the wooden boat they were riding capsized in a river in Solana town, Cagayan province on Wednesday (June 30), police said. The body of Alexa Nicole Siringan had been found and rescuers continued the search for Daniella Mallillin, 11, and Mae Shan Miranda, 9, said Lt. Divina Lagua, Solana police deputy chief. Their other 9-year-old cousin survived the accident after he managed to swim back to the river bank at the village of Natappian East. Investigators said the children went to the river to take a bath. They then rode a boat anchored near the river bank. The boat flipped over due to the strong current.
