Week-long dry-run on use of EDSA motorcycle lane starts today
MANILA, Philippines — A week-long dry-run on the use of the motorcycle lane along EDSA starts today, Tuesday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.
The MMDA, on its twitter account, said that the “blue lane,” or the motorcycle lane would be on the fourth lane of EDSA.
“First and second lanes are provided for city buses. Third lane is designated for the use of provincial buses,” it said, adding that the fifth lane was not used because “there are certain areas along EDSA that doesn’t have a fifth lane.”
The MMDA has said that instead of being issued with traffic violation tickets, motorists who would be caught violating the blue lane rule would be required to attend a 15-minute road safety seminar at designated areas in Roxas Boulevard, Orense, White Plains, Timog Avenue and Quezon Avenue.
