2 more cadets at maritime academy in Zambales test positive for COVID-19
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — At least two more cadets at the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy in San Narciso town tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the two students, aged 22 and 24, were exposed to an infected fellow cadet.
They both showed no symptoms of the disease and were isolated in a quarantine facility inside the academy, where 205 other patients are waiting to recover.
The two cadets are among the 26 new cases of COVID-19 in the province.
A total of 325 infections were logged at the PMMA since an outbreak was reported there on May 23.
At least 619 of the province’s total 3,361 COVID-19 cases are active. Cleared of the viral disease were 2,666 patients. The death toll in the province remained at 75. INQ
