SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela — Two persons infected with the human-immunodeficiency virus-acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV-AIDS) had died while being treated here, officials said Tuesday, June 29.

In a statement, Dr. Genaro Manalo, city health officer, said the patients were residents of this city and Quirino province. They were referred to the city’s treatment hub in the past few months.

The HIV/AIDS treatment hub here offers free screening and treatment for city villagers and nearby towns and provinces.

Health officials have urged villagers with symptoms of HIV/AIDS to seek assistance immediately.

The hub treated at least 17 HIV/AIDS carriers in 2018 and 25 cases in 2019.

In 2020, the city hub recorded 38 cases aged between 17-63 years old. INQ
