5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in June alone — NTF
MANILA, Philippines — Half of the over 10 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine so far administered in the Philippines was given this month of June alone, the National Task Force against COVID-19 (NTF) said Monday.
NTF deputy chief implementer Vince Dizon noted the faster pace of vaccination, saying the country’s first five million doses took three months to administer.
“Alam niyo nung March to May, ang total nating nabakunahan, limang milyon sa buong bansa. Tatlong buwan yun, 90 days,” Dizon said in an event in Valenzuela City.
(From March to May, the vaccines administered in the entire country totalled five million. That’s three months, 90 days.)
“Pero sa buwan ng June, at hindi pa natatapos ang June, may tatlong araw pa, naka-limang milyon tayo. Isang buwan lang. Yung una nating limang milyon, tatlong buwan. Itong susunod nating limang milyon, isang buwan lang,” he added.
(But for the month of June, and the month is not even over yet as we have three more days, we administered five million. Just one month. It took us three months to administer our first five million. It took us only a month to administer our next five million.)
Based on data from the Department of Health, 10,065,414 doses were administered as of June 27, with over 2.5 million individuals already fully vaccinated or received two doses of the vaccine.

On June 23, the Philippines administered 350,000 jabs, the highest number of vaccinations done in just one day.
The government is aiming to administer 500,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses daily to achieve herd immunity by the end of 2021.
