PH administers record high 1.6M COVID-19 vaccine doses in a week

MANILA, Philippines — Over 1.6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered nationwide last week,  which the government says is a record-high.

“The total doses administered in the 17th week of our national vaccination reached a record high of 1,658,072 doses,” the Department of Health (DOH) said in its report on Monday.

In the first week of the inoculation drive in March, only 37,280 doses were administered.

According to government data as of June 27, a total of 10,065,414 vaccine doses have been administered across the country, including 7,538,128 that were provided as first jabs.

Meanwhile, 2,527,286 individuals in the country have been fully vaccinated.

Per priority sector, over 1.6 million healthcare workers, 2.2 million senior citizens, 2.5 million persons with comorbidity, 829,662 essential workers, and 184,125 members of the poor population have received the first COVID-19 vaccine dose.

A total of 1.1 million healthcare workers, 672,602 senior citizens, 710,846 persons with comorbidity, and 12,340 essential workers have been fully vaccinated.

The data also showed that there are 236,867 average daily administered doses in the last seven days. An average of 1,231 vaccination sites have been actively reporting in the last seven days.
