COVID-19 recovery rate in Olongapo rises to 85 percent

OLONGAPO CITY—Twenty one more patients were cleared of COVID-19 here on Sunday, raising to 2,159 the city’s number of recoveries from the viral disease, local data showed.

The figure reflected an 85.6-percent recovery rate out of the 2,521 COVID-19 cases recorded since last year.

It was higher than the 81-percent recovery rate logged at the start of this month.

Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the number of patients who have recovered from COVID-19 exceeded the number of new cases that day, which was only 14.

The total number of active infections in the city is 224, while the death toll stands at 138.
