MANILA, Philippines — Two men who were nabbed on Saturday for not wearing face masks were found to be in possession of 1.3 kilograms of suspected crystal meth, or shabu, worth around P9.18 million, the Southern Police District (SPD) reported on Sunday.

Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, SPD chief, identified the suspects as Jaime Nepacina and Eskak Kamsa, both of legal age, who were arrested during an Oplan Galugad operation on Maguindanao Street in Barangay New Lower Bicutan in Taguig on Saturday.

“As standard operating procedure, police officers conducted a procedural body search and recovered from their possession the above-mentioned evidence hence the arrest,” Macaraeg said in a statement.

Besides the shabu, police also seized a bundle of 100-peso bills amounting to P10,000, a weighing scale, and a green eco bag.

Nepacina and Kamsa were brought to Taguig City Police Station Custodial Facility pending the filing of a case against them for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Acts of 2002.
