5 suspected fixers with fake LTO documents arrested

P500 'shabu' leads to arrest of suspect on watch list in SubicFive suspected fixers were arrested last week in Quezon City after allegedly producing fake certificates of registration and official receipts issued by the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the agency said on Sunday. The suspects were caught on June 25 offering illegal services to a truck owner for the renewal of their vehicle registration “at a staggered fee.” The suspects are now under the custody of the Quezon City Police Station 10. “We have already organized our application process for licenses and vehicle registration, so there is no need to patronize fixers, and there is no need to pay a high price for their service. You only need to follow the right process,” said Edgar Galvante, LTO assistant secretary. Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade reminded the public that any document processed outside the LTO compound was counterfeit and invalid.
