Gas station worker foils robbery, shoots fleeing suspect in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – A gasoline station employee foiled a robbery attempt and shot the lone suspect in Pagbilao, Quezon on Friday night.

The Pagbilao police said the male suspect, armed with a handgun, forcibly pushed the door of the cashier’s booth of Giant gasoline station in Barangay Binahaan along the Maharlika Highway around 8 p.m.

Aries Pornobi, the employee inside the booth, fought back and was able to grab the firearm from the suspect who fled.

Pornobi subsequently shot the escaping suspect who was hit on his back but still managed to escape aboard a motorcycle driven by a cohort.

 Pursuit operations are ongoing.
