Olongapo vaccinates 400 more residents on priority list

Olongapo vaccinates 400 more residents on priority list OLONGAPO CITY — At least 400 more people belonging to the priority sectors here on Friday, June 25, received the vaccine against COVID-19, an official said. Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the city has so far vaccinated about 17,800 residents and at least 4,400 of them had received their second dose of the vaccine. These residents on the A1-A3 priority list or health workers, senior citizens and those with comorbidities were given the Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines. The residents that were already fully vaccinated reflected only about 2.8 percent of the total target of 140,000 people to achieve herd immunity. Paulino said the city could inoculate at least 1,000 people daily using the SMX Convention Center at the SM Central Olongapo. But the limited supply of vaccines from the national government continues to slow down the rollout, he said.
