OLONGAPO CITY–At least 12 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded among the personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Central Luzon, local health data showed on Thursday, June 24.

The latest infections raised to 100 the active COVID-19 cases among the PNP workforce in the region based on the report of the health service of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3).

But 32 of the previous COVID-19 cases monitored by the PRO3 had already recovered from the viral disease.

So far, at least 1,723 PNP personnel in the region, including this city, had contracted the virus since last year. Over 1,600 of them were already cleared of the disease.

The death toll among the policemen of PRO3 remained at five.
