MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police chief Guillermo Eleazar is reviewing the recommendation to sack killer cop Master Sgt. Hensie Zinampan, who was caught in a viral video shooting dead a 52-year-old woman in Quezon City.

Eleazar said the review was to make sure that Zinampan, 42, would be completely removed from the service and would not be able to overturn on appeal his impending dismissal.

On the sidelines of Wednesday’s destruction by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency of P1.295 billion worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in Cavite, the PNP chief confirmed receiving the recommendation from the PNP internal affairs service on Monday.

He said Zinampan’s case would likely be similar to that of policeman Jonel Nuezca who was dismissed for killing his 52-year-old neighbor Sonia Gregorio and her 25-year-old son Frank Anthony last December in Paniqui, Tarlac.

On May 31, a drunken Zinampan, of the PNP police security and protection group, was caught on video shooting dead his neighbor Lilybeth Valdez in Barangay Greater Fairview, Quezon City.
