MANILA, Philippines — Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) chief Isidro Lapeña on Wednesday said he has no plans to run for any position in the coming 2022 elections.
The former general said he is just currently enjoying the Tesda post, the third assignment given to him by President Rodrigo Duterte.
“I am happy where I am helping our President na magawa yung mga gusto niyang mangyari para sa mga kababayan natin [to achieve all the aspirations he has for our countrymen],” Lapeña said during Kapihan sa Manila Bay media forum.
Duterte appointed Lapeña as the chief of government agencies thrice: first as Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s director-general, then as Bureau of Customs’ commissioner, and now as Tesda’s director-general.
“I think ito yung pinakamagandang naging trabaho ko, kasi whatever you do at Tesda, it results to something positive, para sa trabaho at ikabubuhay ng isang tao,” he said.
(I think this is my best job thus far, because whatever you do at Tesda, it resulted in something positive for the employment and livelihood of the people.)
