MANILA, Philippines — To address the shortage of public transport along Edsa, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Monday authorized 20 more public utility buses to operate along the Edsa Busway route.

The LTFRB said 428 public buses had been allowed so far to operate at the Edsa Busway due to limited public transport.

Buses that ply the Edsa Busway route serve passengers under the government’s free ride program for essential workers, front-liners and authorized persons outside of residences. As of June 22, the LTFRB said the program had served 20,250,931 passengers since March.
