COVID-19 death toll in Olongapo City climbs to 129

OLONGAPO CITY — An 80-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman here have died due to COVID-19 complications, an official said on Tuesday, June 22.

Citing local health data, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the latest fatalities pushed to 129 the city’s total death toll related to the disease.

But Paulino said 15 more patients were cleared from COVID-19 on the same day, bringing down the city’s active cases to 251.

At least 11 new infections were also logged that day. These new patients are aged 9-67.

To date, Olongapo has recorded 2,433 COVID-19 cases since last year, and 2,053 of these have already recovered from the viral disease.
