Rape suspect nabbed in Aurora town

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga—Policemen arrested a suspected rapist in Dipaculao town, Aurora province, authorities said Monday, June 21.

The regional police identified the suspect as Allan Robles, 51, a carpenter.

Col. Julio Lizardo, acting Aurora police director, said operatives from the Dipaculao municipal police and provincial maneuver and mobile force companies arrested the suspect in Barangay Dinadiawan at 3:20 p.m. on June 20.

Lizardo said the suspect was the subject of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Alejandria Bautista Javier-Genota of Baler Regional Trial Court Branch 1-FC for statutory rape with no bail recommended.

Operatives initially detained Robles at the Dipaculao municipal police station before his presentation to the court.

Lizardo also announced the arrest earlier of three people in Barangay Simbahan, Dinalungan town for allegedly operating an illegal numbers game known as “loteng.”

He said the suspects, all women aged 21 to 46, failed to produce identification cards from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. They are facing charges for violation of the Presidential Decree 1602 for illegal gambling.
