Three women bound for Doha, Qatar, to work as household service workers (HSW) were recently intercepted by agents of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) at Clark International Airport for misrepresenting their age. Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said the women, whose ages were below 23, the minimum age for HSW abroad, wore dark lipstick to make them appear older. The three women from Cotabato presented documents showing their assumed age, the BI said. During the interview, however, the women gave inconsistent statements on their personal details and later admitted to lying about their age. —TINA G. SANTOS
