MANILA, Philippines — COVID-19 has killed 23,749 Filipinos after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 128 more deaths on Monday.
According to the DOH, 1.74 percent of the 1.3 million cases of COVID-19 have died.
Meanwhile, the DOH recorded 5,249 new COVID-19 infections and 7,053 recoveries, bringing the active case count to 55,847.
All in all, there are a total of 1,364,239 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country.
DOH said it removed 23 duplicates from the total case count, including 16 recoveries.
Two cases found to have tested negative have also been removed from the total case count. DOH said the two cases are recoveries.
“Moreover, 62 cases previously tagged as recoveries have been validated to be active cases and 45 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said.
The health department said all labs were operational on June 19 but eight labs could not submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System.
