SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—At least 10 more cadets of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) in San Narciso town had tested positive for COVID-19, an official said Sunday, June 20.
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said two patients, aged 19 and 22, show some symptoms, while eight have no signs of the disease.
The figure raised to 320 the total number of cadets infected with COVID-19 since May 23, but only 200 of these are active.
Bueno said the infected cadets are in a quarantine facility inside the academy.
The new cases are among the 22 latest infections in the province on Sunday, Bueno said.
The active COVID-19 cases in Zambales have reached 680 out of the 3,186 infections logged since last year.
