3 drug suspects yield P610K shabu in Quezon buy-busts

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested three suspected drug pushers and seized over P610,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in buy-bust operations in Lucena City, Tayabas City, and Sariaya town in Quezon province on Saturday and Sunday.

Police Colonel Joel Villanueva, Quezon police chief, said Cristino Albindo was arrested after he sold a pack of shabu to an undercover police officer in a transaction in Barangay (village) Gibanga in Sariaya at 1 a.m. Sunday. Seized were eight plastic sachets of shabu weighing 40 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P272,000.

On Saturday, policemen also nabbed Radel Calatrava in another sting operation in Barangay Wakas in Tayabas City around 10:30 p.m. The suspect yielded six sachets containing 29.76 grams of shabu with an estimated DDB value of P202,368.

Anti-narcotic agents also collared Adrian De Ocampo in Barangay Salinas in this city around 8:30 p.m., also on Saturday, Police Lieutenant Colonel Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, said in a report. Police seized 20 grams of meth in four sachets from De Ocampo worth P136,000 in DDB estimate.

The suspects were detained and are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
