COVID-19 kills 5 more in Zambales

PH coronavirus death toll tops 10,000 as 64 more dieSAN ANTONIO, Zambales––Five more patients died Thursday due to COVID-19 complications, raising the total number of fatalities in the province to 70.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said among the latest fatalities were three men aged 42, 72, and 81, and two women aged 54 and 83.

Bueno also reported that 31 new COVID-19 patients and 40 recoveries were added to their tally on the same day, bringing the total number of active cases in the province to 722.

Among the new patients are a staff nurse in a private hospital in Olongapo, a nurse from abroad, who recently went home to the province, and a nursing aide from San Felipe town.

To date, the province has 3,139 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since last year, but at least 2,346 of them had recovered. INQ
