Speaker Velasco receives first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

MANILA, Philippines — House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco received on Thursday his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the House of Representatives’ Twitter account, Velasco was inoculated at the House Vaccination Center.

The social media post, however, did not specify the vaccine brand administered to Velasco.

Velasco stressed the need for members and employees of the House of Representatives to get inoculated to keep the legislative mill running as well as protect them and their families from the virus.

The COVID-19 vaccination drive in the House of Representatives kicked off on May 10.
