Negros Occidental gov issues guidelines to speed up COVID-19 vaccination roll-out

BACOLOD CITY—Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson issued Tuesday a memorandum to the 31 mayors of the province setting the guidelines to improve and speed up the COVID-19 vaccination roll-out.

A simultaneous mass vaccination drive of 13,000 Negrenses in all 31 cities and towns of Negros Occidental will be held Thursday and Friday, June 17 and 18.

Immediately upon receipt of the vaccines from the Department of Health (DOH), the Provincial Health Office (PHO) would schedule the roll-out to the 31 local governments, the guidelines stated.

“The schedule shall in no case be later than three days from receipt of the vaccines,” Lacson said.

Upon receipt of the vaccination schedule and allocation, all mayors and health workers must prepare their venues, teams, and vaccinees.

They should also upload the names of all vaccinees to the designated DOH website and submit the list to the PHO at least one day before the vaccination date.

“On the vaccination date, all efforts should be exerted to administer all vaccines delivered within the same day. In case there are deferred cases, substitute vaccinees will be allowed,” Lacson said.
