P21.9M marijuana plants destroyed in Kalinga

TUGUEGARAO CITY––Authorities destroyed about P21.9 million worth of marijuana plants in simultaneous operations Tuesday in Kalinga province.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and local police discovered the plantations in Buscalan, Butbut Proper, and Loccong villages in Tinglayan town.

About 5,000 marijuana plants worth P1 million were found in Buscalan.

In Butbut Proper, about 57,500 marijuana plants and 5,000 marijuana seedlings worth P14.1 million were destroyed in six plantations.

In Loccong, about 34,000 full-grown marijuana plants worth P6.8 million were burned.

No cultivators were arrested in the operations, police said. INQ
