MANILA, Philippines — Tourists of all ages from the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus can travel to other tourist destinations under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) until June 30, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said on Wednesday.
Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat said the Interagency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases allowed the free movement of people in and out of NCR Plus — consisting of Metro Manila and adjacent provinces Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal — until June 30.
“This extended liberal movement of people will allow the DOT and local government units to revive the jobs of displaced tourism workers,” Puyat said in a statement.
To recall, Puyat said the DOT asked IATF to allow below 18 and above 65 to travel and it was allowed, as long as they provide negative swab tests.

IATF allows interzonal travel between areas under GCQ and modified GCQ for leisure purposes. But tourists coming from Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal may only undertake point-to-point travel to GCQ and MGCQ areas.
Meanwhile, accredited staycation hotels in all GCQ areas remain allowed to accommodate leisure guests at up to 100 percent of their capacity, while DOT-accredited establishments in GCQ areas may operate at 30 percent capacity only for guests coming from the same household and subject to strict monitoring of the local government unit.
The tourist sites and attractions in NCR are allowed to operate until June 30 with varying capacity.
Outdoor tourist attractions in GCQ areas, including NCR and Bulacan, may operate at 50 percent capacity, but those in Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal could only operate at 30 percent capacity.
Museums and historical sites will be allowed to operate at 50 percent capacity in GCQ areas, at 30 percent in the NCR and Bulacan, but they are not allowed in Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal.
