Man slain after holding boy hostage in Bulacan
SAN RAFAEL, Bulacan—The police on Monday killed an unidentified man who held a boy hostage in this town.
Col. Ferdinand Germino, San Rafael police chief, said at 6:30 p.m., the suspect barged into a house in Barangay Banca-banca and took the 5-year-old boy
Germino said the armed suspect, a stranger in the area, was under the influence of illegal drugs.
Investigators said while responding lawmen were negotiating for his peaceful surrender, the man demanded to talk to a woman reporter or a policewoman.
But the policemen were forced to shoot the suspect when he was seen hurting his victim.
Recovered from the scene were a .38-caliber revolver, ammunition, and 10 sachets of “shabu” (crystal meth).
