MANILA, Philippines — The fourth campus of the University of Caloocan City (UCC) is set to rise in Barangay Bagong Silang, the local government announced.
Mayor Oscar Malapitan, who led the groundbreaking ceremony during his 66th birthday on Monday, said the four-story campus building will be the main campus for engineering courses, along with business courses.
“This is my gift for Caloocan students on my birthday — the construction of another UCC campus for those who want to be engineers,” he said in a speech in Filipino. “We want more students to have access to quality education.”
UCC Congressional and EDSA campuses were also built under Malapitan’s term, the local government noted.
There is another UCC campus located at Barangay Camarin.
There is no definite date as to when the building will finish its construction.
“Until my final years as Caloocan mayor, I will do my best to fulfill the promised big projects, including the projects for the education sector,” Malapitan said.
