Man nabbed for alleged sexual assault of stepdaughter in Pampanga
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—Authorities arrested Saturday a 56-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting his minor stepdaughter in Madapdap Resettlement Center here, the city police disclosed.
Lt. Col. Soledad Elefanio, city police officer-in-charge, said suspect Raquel Santos was arrested around 4:50 a.m., several hours after the alleged sexual abuse of the 17-year-old victim took place.
Investigation showed that the victim was working on her educational modules inside her room when the suspect allegedly threatened to hurt her as he tried to assault her sexually.
Unknown to the suspect, her stepdaughter managed to record her ordeal on her mobile phone.
Elefanio said the victim initially sought the help of barangay officials, who notified the city police.
A team of policemen was dispatched to the area and arrested the suspect, who is facing charges for violation of Republic act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).
“Due to quick police reporting, we were able to locate and arrest the suspect promptly, and the necessary police action was conducted,” said Elefanio.
