MANILA, Philippines — Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo said declogging the court dockets and speeding up court processes by using available technologies would be among his priority programs in his six-year tenure.
Gesmundo said magistrates agreed to “strictly” abide by the constitutional requirement that mandated the Supreme Court to resolve cases within 24 months.
He said the long judicial process had led individuals wanting instant relief to their legal problems to seek redress in public service television programs, such as those hosted by the Tulfo brothers.
“They thought using this platform will provide the avenue for them. If they are happy and content with the resolution [of their problems], then let’s respect their choice,” he added.
