LEGAZPI CITY — A member of the notorious Gilbert Concepcion crime group was killed Saturday morning in a shootout with the police in a village in Oas town in Albay province, a police report said.
Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, identified the slain gang member as Rickson Sanchez, 39, resident of Barangay (village) Linao in Libon town.
A police report said the suspect while selling a 357 caliber pistol to a police undercover agent, noticed that it was a bust and engaged the operatives in a shootout at around 7 a.m. in Barangay Camagong.
The suspect died while being taken to the Doña Josefa Belmonte District Hospital in Ligao City.
Recovered from the slain suspect were several caliber .357 handguns,  a 9mm pistol, a sachet of suspected shabu (crystal meth), and the marked cash used in the bust.
