3 injured in Oriental Mindoro motorbike crash
CITY OF CALAPAN – Three persons, including two Sangguniang Kabataang (SK) chairpersons, were injured after two motorcycles figured in a collision Friday afternoon along Strong Republic Nautical Highway (SRNH) in Gloria, Oriental Mindoro, police said Saturday.
The Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan (Mimaropa) police said in a report that the first motorcycle was driven by Novelyn Magcamit, 25 and SK chairman of Barangay Tambong. His back rider was identified as Elaisa Manay, 21, SK chairperson of Barangay Bulaklakan, both in Gloria town.
The second motorcycle was driven by Gilbert Bacay, a construction worker, with back-rider Denelyn de Buque, 23, a resident of Pinamalayan town.
Both motorcycles were traveling in same direction when Magcamit, upon reaching Barangay Bulaklakan via SRNH at 5:10 p.m., tried to cross to the left side of the road.
She did not see the motorcycle from behind that was fast approaching, which resulted in the accident.
