MANILA, Philippines — The average number of new COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila has decreased by 17 percent in the last seven days, OCTA Research said Friday.
According to OCTA Research, Metro Manila recorded an average of 926 new COVID-19 cases from June 4 to 10, lower than the average of 1,116 new COVID-19 cases from the previous week.
The report of the research group also showed that the reproduction number in the capital region for the previous week was at 0.72 while the average daily attack rate (ADAR) was 6.7, which means the risk level in the region is moderate.
The positivity rate in NCR also decreased to eight percent, while the hospital care utilization rate also decreased to 36 percent with an ICU occupancy rate of 49 percent.
OCTA Research also noted that most local government units in the region have recorded an ADAR of less than 10 per 100,000 population, which places the localities at a moderate risk level.
Navotas City has the lowest risk level with a 3.48 ADAR, followed by Marikina with an ADAR at 4.11.
Makati City, meanwhile, recorded a negative seven-percent change of attack rate from the previous week but registered the highest ADAR at 10.77.
As of Thursday, the country has already recorded a total of 1,293,687 confirmed COVID-19 cases, composed of 56,921 active cases, 1,214,454 recoveries and 22,312 deaths. Faith Yuen Wei Ragasa, Inquirer trainee
