OLONGAPO CITY –– The city on Wednesday, June 9, registered another death related to COVID-19 apart from 25 new infections, a local official said.
Citing local health data, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said a 61-year-old man was the latest to die of COVID-19 complications, making him the city’s 111th fatality.
The COVID-19 death toll here reflected a 5-percent mortality rate after the city logged 2,203 infections since last year.
Only seven patients had recovered from the disease on the same day, raising to 1,785 the total number of people who had been healed from COVID-19.
Paulino said the new cases, aged 13-80, brought to 307 the city’s active cases. INQ
