Isolated rains with cloudy skies on Friday due to monsoon trough — Pagasa

Public Weather Forecast Issued at 4:00 AM June 11, 2021

MANILA, Philippines — Isolated rain showers and cloudy skies are expected in the western side of Luzon, particularly Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batagas, Rizal, Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) regions and Metro Manila on Friday due to a monsoon trough, the state weather bureau reported.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the rest of Luzon, will have a fair weather, while slightly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers are expected in the Visayas and Mindanao.

“Asahan natin na walang nakataas na gale warning o ibig sabihin wala naman tayong restriction sa paglayag ng mga sasakyang pandagat. Magiging banayad sa katamtaman ang pag-alon sa ating mga baybayin,” Pagasa weather specialist Shelly Ignacio said.

(There are no gale warnings raised, meaning there is no restriction for vessels. Waves will be light to moderate.)

“Pero pinapayuhan pa ring mag-ingat lalo na kung magkakaroon ng mga localized thunderstorm,” she added.

(But we are still advising the public to take precautions in case of localized thunderstorms.)

Meanwhile, Pagasa said the low pressure area (LPA) it is monitoring was last spotted 545 kilometers west of Northern Luzon.

While it has a slim chance of developing into a storm, Pagasa said there is a possibility that it will enter the Philippine area of responsibility.
