New Chief Justice vows reforms in court system
MANILA, Philippines — Newly installed Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo has vowed to initiate reforms to improve the efficiency of the court system, including the time imposed on the process of resolving filed cases.
The Judicial Reform Initiative (JRI) said in a statement that these were among the reform programs discussed by the head of the Supreme Court during a courtesy call.
“The (Supreme Court) work plan provides for an assessment of the organizational and operational structure of the judiciary and targets the establishment of an information and communication technology infrastructure to improve case management and court administration,” the JRI said. —TINA G. SANTOS
