MANILA, Philippines — The Makati City government has dedicated two vaccination sites to cater to individuals belonging to the A4, or essential workers priority group.

Mayor Abby Binay on Thursday led the opening of a new vaccination site at the Ayala-owned Glorietta 5 mall along Ayala Avenue in the middle of the city’s financial district.

Located at the mall’s third floor, it targets to vaccinate up to 500 individuals daily who have preregistered under the A4 category.

Another vaccination site for A4 vaccinees will be opened on Friday at the Megaworld-owned San Lorenzo Place mall, at the corner of Edsa and Chino Roces Avenue, which aims to vaccinate up to 400 individuals a day.

“We have made these strategic partnerships with the private sector to accommodate the expected influx of vaccine registrants from the A4 category,” Binay said.

Private businesses in Makati are required to register their employees for vaccination under A4 category at makatibusiness.safemakati.com.

“We need to ensure fast yet safe vaccination against COVID-19 for our economic front-liners so that businesses in the city can continue to recover and thrive, thus fueling faster economic recovery,” Binay said.

The Makati Coliseum, and the more than 30 vaccination sites in public schools and villages in the city, as well as the drive-through vaccination hub at Circuit Makati would continue to cater to those under A1 (medical front-liners), A2 (senior citizens) and A3 (persons with comorbidities) priority groups.
