Makati sting yields P2.7-M illegal drugs from Nigerian, Filipina partner

MANILA, Philippines — A Nigerian and her Filipina live-in partner were caught in possession of suspected shabu or crystal meth worth P2.7 million during a Makati sting on Thursday, authorities reported.

Makati police identified the suspects as Lucky Chinwe Ugboaga, and Rowena Reyes, both of legal age and residents of Dasmariñas, Cavite.

The live-in couple were arrested in a buy-bust operation at Kalayaan Avenue, Brgy. West Rembo, Makati City around 1:30 in the morning.

Seized from the two are suspected shabu weighing 400 grams with an estimated value of P2,720,000, along with 149 pieces of P1,000 bill, which served as the buy-bust money.

The two suspects are facing charges in violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
