Pagasa: Cloudy Thursday with isolated rain showers; LPA spotted off N. Luzon
MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted off the western part of Northern Luzon and outside the Philippine area of responsibility, the state weather bureau said Thursday.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last located 655 kilometers west of northern Luzon, but has a minimal chance of intensifying into a tropical cyclone and may head toward southern China.
Meanwhile, a monsoon trough is affecting the entire country.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains are possible, warned Pagasa.
