DAPHNE Oseña-Paez of ABS-CBN Broadcast Center will speak at the “1st Cebu Creative Industries Summit,” one of the events of the annual Cebu Business Month spearheaded by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Cebu and the Department of Science and Technology in Central Visayas (DOST-7).
The summit on June 21 and 22 at the Cebu City Sports Club in Cebu Business Park aims to develop Cebu’s creative industries and local entrepreneurs towards a healthier economy.
Topics on the first day include “Turning Passion for Creativity into a Business Enterprise” by Director General Ricardo Blancaflor of the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and Paez and “A Global and Philippine Perspective on the Creative Industries: Understanding their Contribution to the Economy and Potentials for Growth” by Henry Schumacher of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines.
Other speakers include officers from the DTI, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Cultural Center of the Philippines and Cinemalaya Foundation.
On the second day, Science and Technology Undersecretary Fortunato dela Peña and DOST-7 Director Rene Burt Llanto will deal on the Philippine innovation roadmap presentation, while engineer Nestor Archival on innovative entrepreneurship experience.
