DOH: 1.6 million Filipinos so far fully vaccinated vs COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — About 1.6 million Filipinos so far are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning they have already completed two doses of the vaccine, an official of the Department of Health (DOH) said Wednesday.
The Philippines has already administered 6.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, with 4.6 million administered as first dose and 1.6 million are administered as second dose, DOH Director IV Napoleon Arevalo said.
Of those fully vaccinated, over 800,000 are medical frontliners, 415,000 are senior citizens, 370,000 are persons comorbidities, and 6,000 are economic frontliners.
The vaccination in the Philippines started on March 1, with priority vaccination focusing on medical frontliners, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities.
The government kicked off the vaccination of economic frontliners in a symbolic inoculation last Monday.
