MANILA, Philippines — More than 50,000 violations on non-wearing of face masks were recorded from May 31 to June 6, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reported Monday.
DILG Secretary Eduardo Año said 50,021 face mask violations were recorded from the said week, most of whom were given warnings.
According to Año’s presentation, of the 50,021 violations, 28,087 violators were warned; 17,395 were fined; 3,413 were asked to do community service; and 1,126 were arrested.
“Ayon sa nakalap ng ating Philippine National Police, tumaas ang mga nahuling hindi nagsusuot ng face mask,” Año said.

Meanwhile, Año said there were 613 violations on conduct of mass gatherings: 579 were warned; 28 were fined; and six were asked to do community service.
For violations on physical distancing, Año said there were 13,882 total violations–11,055 were warned; 1,880 were fined; 325 were asked to do community service; and 622 were arrested.
