TUGUEGARAO CITY—A stray dog has discovered some marijuana bricks worth P2 million that were concealed in boxes with dried fish, police said on Monday, June 7.
Col. Davy Vicente Limmong, Kalinga police director, said the two boxes were left abandoned at a vacant lot at Sitio Ngilin, Barangay Poblacion in Tinglayan town on Sunday morning.
Villagers said the dog followed the trail of the smell from the boxes and destroyed it, revealing its contents.
Limmong said mixing marijuana bricks with goods to avoid confiscation by the authorities is a known modus operandi of syndicates.
Police have yet to identify the intended recipient of the contraband. INQ
