BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Evelio Leonardia of this city has issued an executive order on Sunday, June 6, imposing “strict precautionary measures to curb the recent spike and rebound of COVID-19 infections.”
Executive Order No. 31 Series of 2021 sets the curfew in Bacolod from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. and totally bans the consumption of liquor in public places.
“There is a need for more vigilance and caution with Bacolod experiencing a spike in COVID-19 infections, and the Department of Health-6 having classified it as a high-risk area for coronavirus,” Leonardia said.
He strongly appealed to Bacolod residents to observe all the basic health protocols and to voluntarily home quarantine themselves as much as possible.
The mayor reiterated that any form of mass gathering or business activity has to be only 30 percent of a venue’s capacity.
The selling of liquor, wine, beer, or any alcoholic or intoxicating beverage in public places will be allowed only from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. for consumption in private residences.
Leonardia said serving and selling liquor at beer houses, nightclubs, karaoke bars, or any establishment whose business is to serve/sell liquor or alcoholic drinks primarily will remain prohibited.
Members of the vulnerable sector are still required to remain in their residences at all times, except when indispensable under the circumstances to obtain essential goods and services or work in permitted industries and offices.
Among those included in the vulnerable sector are persons below 18 years old and above 65 years old, pregnant women, and those with immunodeficiency, comorbidity, or other health risks regardless of age.
