MANILA, Philippines — Nearly six million COVID-19 vaccine doses have so far been administered in the country, government data showed on Monday.
Data as of June 6, 2021 showed that 5.95 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered, with 4.4 million of them as first doses.
A total of 1.54 million Filipinos are fully vaccinated.
The average number of doses administered per day in the last seven days is 112,621, with an average of 937 active and reporting vaccination sites during the said period.
The data also showed that there were a total of 788,350 doses administered in the 14th week of COVID-19 vaccination in the country.
On the first week of inoculation in March, there were only 37,280 vaccine doses administered due to limited supply.
According to DOH, over 1.39 million doses were provided as first dose to medical front-liners, 1.53 million to senior citizens, 1.47 million to persons with comorbidities and 12,259 to essential workers.
Meanwhile, a total of 827,089 medical front-liners, 369,387 senior citizens, 343,297 persons with comorbidities and 4,559 essential workers are fully vaccinated.
Vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. said in May that a better Christmas awaits Filipinos this year as the country is expected to reach its benchmark for herd immunity with 58 million to 70 million of the population receiving full doses by November.
