51 new cases, 5 deaths added to Olongapo’s COVID-19 tally

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales –– Five new COVID-19 fatalities and 51 new infections were logged in Olongapo City over the weekend, an official said Sunday (June 6)

Citing the latest data, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the deaths of the patients aged 41-72 raised to 110 the city’s death toll related to COVID-19.

The city has been struggling with its increasing COVID-19 deaths in the last two weeks, recording at least one fatality almost every day.

Paulino said new infections also continued to rise as more households and workplaces suffer an outbreak of the virus.

Among the latest to contract COVID-19 are residents aged 20-73.

To date, the city listed 2,154 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic started last year. At least 1,740 of them had recovered from the disease.
